The trade: the coin economy sits on top of the subscription, so media-heavy use is still metered, and faces drifted between generations in my test. If Candy AI’s token budget is what annoyed you, understand that you are changing the currency, not escaping it. What you get for the same $19.99 is far more control over what gets generated.
Lovescape AI
Lovescape AI is the pick if what you actually wanted from Candy AI was explicit video, and the contextual clips were not it. It is barely a companion app. It is a directing tool: pick the character, the pose, the model, and the camera feel, generate a still, then turn that still into a clip and keep directing from there. Live Cam takes the same scene interactive.
Price as tested: $19.99 for one month of Premium on July 17, 2026, which delivered 600 chips. Signup gave 40. An image cost 18 chips, a 5-second clip cost 90, and a Live Cam action cost 70. Checkout also showed $12.99 a month on a three-month term and $7.99 a month billed annually at $95.88.
The trade: 600 chips is about six clips a month at the 90-chip rate, so this is a tool you use deliberately rather than idly. And the chat is thin compared with Candy AI. If the conversation was the part you liked, this is the wrong direction.

Price as tested: $7.99 for one month of Pro on July 17, 2026, with 100 monthly hearts. The same page showed Ultra at $13.99 with 200 hearts and Max at $19.99 with 300. The strongest engine I used, DesireXXX, cost 4 hearts per message.
The trade: at 4 hearts a message, 100 hearts is 25 messages on the best engine, so Pro is a compatibility test rather than a destination. Voice calls also did not carry my text-chat context in one test. Treat $7.99 as the cost of finding out whether this app suits you, not as the monthly bill you will settle on.
If everything said yes too easily, one app in this category is built the other way.
Swipey AI
Swipey AI is the only app I have paid for where the character refused a direct escalation instead of folding. Two visible meters track it: a Flirty Unlocks stage bar that gates what she will do at all, and a chemistry meter that moves with how you actually talk. Candy AI’s slow burn is written; Swipey’s is enforced by the interface. It is also, to my eye, the best-looking app in the category.
Price as tested: $19.99 for one month on July 25, 2026, with 200 hearts included. Signup gave 40, worth about 20 messages. An image in chat cost 25 hearts, a video 100, and a voice call 20 hearts a minute.
The trade: 200 hearts is 8 images, 2 videos, or 10 minutes of calling, and paid unlocks move the stage meter faster than conversation does, which cuts against the premise. The catalog is also smaller than Candy AI’s. This is the pick for the chase specifically, not for breadth.
The four below are research, not tests. They are in my catalog as research qualified because their official documentation and feature sets check out, but I have not put a card into any of them. Nothing here is a tested claim, and none of them get the language the four above earned.
DreamGF
Web-based companion app built around building a girlfriend and generating her pictures, with chat, voice, and images. It runs a free trial, which is the specific reason it belongs on this list: if the thing that stung about Candy AI was paying $13.99 before knowing whether you liked it, starting somewhere with a trial is a rational move. It is that the most common reason to leave Candy AI is wanting control over what gets generated, and OurDream sells exactly that: the deepest scene and pose controls I have paid for, and an image-to-video workflow that finished. It also happens to be the pick six of the ten pages ranking for this query arrive at independently, which is the closest thing to a second opinion this category offers.
Two amendments. If the $13.99 was the sticking point, start with Secret Desires AI at $7.99 and treat it as a compatibility test, not a permanent home. If explicit video you can direct is the whole reason you are here, go to Lovescape AI and skip the companion framing entirely.
