How the AI Boyfriend ranking is calculated
Editorial cold start Nothing on this page is a community vote yet. The current order and the dimmed scores are a provisional baseline: my self-funded tests where they exist, public secondary research everywhere else, with research-stage apps capped at 3 of 4 until a self-funded test. Tested apps rank above researched ones, never the reverse. Inside each of those two groups the baseline weights verified market demand, product maturity, category fit, and evidence confidence.
How voting works You rate only apps you have used, on 🌶️ spicy, 🧠 memory, 🎭 character consistency, 💸 value for money, ❤️ companionship, each from 1 to 5, plus how long you used the app and whether you paid. One active rating per app per person; you can update it when your experience changes. Community scores publish per dimension once a category clears its sample-size threshold, and eligible ratings use a rolling 90-day window.
Dated monthly snapshots The board refreshes on the 25th of each month, starting Aug 25, 2026. Every snapshot publishes the raw vote count next to the filtered count, so removed votes are visible, not silent. Suspicious ballots are held for review before they can touch a score, and confirmed manipulation is removed. Click data and affiliate relationships never enter the product-quality score.
