CrushOn AI Alternatives: Top-Notch Bots, Lower Prices

CrushOn AI alternatives sorted by what pushed you out: the price ladder, message caps, or mid-scene memory. Real prices and free-tier numbers from my own tests.

If you sign up through a link marked "Visit site", I may earn a commission. It never changes what I write. Every number is measured before any partnership exists, and the test date is printed next to it.

Quick answer: what is the best CrushOn AI alternative?

For the same unfiltered roleplay on a flat price with no message caps, Candy AI ($13.99/mo, unlimited text) was the strongest app I have paid for and tested. The cheapest tier that stays uncensored is Secret Desires AI ($7.99/mo). If the bots are why you stayed, OurDream AI ($19.99/mo) has the deepest roleplay controls I have tested and an official card-import path. The free way out is JanitorAI, with the setup tax mapped below.

Why people look for a CrushOn alternative

The top result for this search is a Reddit thread whose author is not angry at the product at all: “the bots are just top notch, but the 50 bucks a month feels really steep.” The replies that are not spam agree on both halves, quality praised, price ladder resented, with one user putting it flatly: there are “much better platforms with lower prices.”

That is the whole assignment. The reason to leave CrushOn is money, not quality: a tier ladder where every level below the top caps your messages, so the heavier your roleplay, the higher you get pushed. The list below is sorted by what you actually need to keep, with five entries tested on my own card and two researched and labeled.

What CrushOn still does well

Fairness first, because the thread’s author is right. CrushOn’s card community is large and active, the unfiltered toggle ships on the home feed, and 2026 reviews consistently report adult roleplay going unrefused. If the price ladder does not bite you, model choice plus permissive rules is a real product. It sits in my test queue, and this page will link the full review when my card gets there.

The alternatives, by why you’re leaving

If the price ladder is the whole problem, the fix is a flat plan with no message meter:

Candy AI

Candy is the direct answer to “top notch bots, lower price”: unfiltered roleplay that held character in my test, story pacing that earns the slow burn, and a flat $13.99 plan with unlimited text. Nothing meters your messages; only images and video draw tokens. After a month inside CrushOn’s ladder, the absence of a counter is the feature.

Candy AI paid home screen showing a loaded banner, character catalog, and New Experiences shelf

Price: $13.99 a month as tested on 2026-07-15, about 5 free messages before the wall.

Covers: the price complaint, the caps complaint, unfiltered roleplay. Does not cover: a community card library.

Secret Desires AI

Secret Desires AI is the cheapest plan I have paid for in this category, and it stays fully uncensored: natural texting, a partner builder whose faces hold across images, and male and female catalogs. If the point of leaving is spending less without going SFW, this is the floor that still works.

Price: $7.99 a month as tested on 2026-07-17, with a daily free allowance.

Covers: price, uncensored, male bots. Does not cover: community cards or model choice.

If the bots are why you stayed this long, and you want depth instead of a bigger cap:

OurDream AI

OurDream is the depth pick: scene direction controls, photo-real images and working video, and a flat plan where standard messages are unlimited. It is also the practical migration target, because its official character import page accepts V2 and PNG cards, the closest thing this category has to taking your characters with you.

OurDream AI homepage showing its character catalog, discovery filters, and realistic companion cards

Price: $19.99 a month as tested on 2026-07-16, 1,000 coins included, media drawing coins.

Covers: roleplay depth, card migration, no text meter. Does not cover: a community card feed.

Swipey AI

Swipey replaces the paywall ladder with progression: characters refuse until you have earned the unlock through a visible meter, so spending follows the story instead of gating it. The catalog is the best-looking in this list, and my review documents exactly what 200 monthly hearts buy.

Price: $19.99 a month as tested on 2026-07-25; 40 free hearts is about 20 messages.

Covers: the resentment of paying for nothing, looks, pacing. Does not cover: metered media; hearts are still a currency.

If what you actually wanted was the media CrushOn never rendered:

Lovescape AI

CrushOn is text-first; Lovescape is the opposite: a generator with chat attached, where poses and explicit actions sit on a priced menu, stills animate into video, and Live Cam changes the scene in place. If your CrushOn habit kept wishing the scene had pictures, this is that product, tested with the chip receipts in my review.

Price: $19.99 a month as tested on 2026-07-17; 40 free chips when a 2-still batch costs 18.

Covers: images and video, explicit menus. Does not cover: card-based text roleplay depth.

If the answer is to stop paying entirely, researched until my card reaches them:

JanitorAI

Free community cards, permissive rules, and model choice through your own API key. The genuine replies in the CrushOn thread name it for a reason: it is the only way to keep the card format without a subscription. Setup and reliability are the trade, mapped in my Janitor AI alternatives guide.

Price: free; your own API key is where costs can appear.

SpicyChat

The genuinely-free start: its free tier allows NSFW behind the toggle, at the cost of queues at peak hours. Users leaving it and users leaving CrushOn cite mirror-image complaints, so read my SpicyChat alternatives guide before treating it as the destination rather than a waypoint.

Price: free tier with queues; paid tiers remove them.

Can you take your characters with you?

CrushOn does not document a card export, so assume rebuilding unless you have your character’s full description saved. Two practical routes: OurDream’s import page accepts V2 and PNG character cards if you can produce one, and every tested app above has a character creator that will take a pasted description. Save your character’s definition text before you cancel anything; it is the one asset you cannot re-download after the subscription lapses.

How to choose

If price is the push, Candy at $13.99 flat or Secret Desires at $7.99 solve it without going SFW. If depth is the pull, OurDream, and bring your cards. If you want the meter to mean something, Swipey. If you want pictures, Lovescape. If you want out of subscriptions entirely, JanitorAI free, with SpicyChat’s queues as the tax on genuinely free.

Questions people ask

CrushOn AI FAQ

What is the best CrushOn AI alternative?

For the same unfiltered roleplay on a flat price with no message caps, Candy AI was the strongest app I have paid for and tested. For the cheapest plan that stays uncensored, Secret Desires AI at $7.99. For a free like-for-like card platform, JanitorAI.

Is there a free CrushOn AI alternative?

JanitorAI is genuinely free with community cards and permissive rules, and SpicyChat's free tier allows NSFW behind its toggle with queues at peak. The paid apps here give a measured taste: about 5 messages at Candy AI, 55 one-time coins at OurDream AI, and a daily allowance at Secret Desires AI.

Why is CrushOn AI so expensive?

The price users quote is the top of a tiered ladder: every tier below it caps messages, so heavy roleplayers get pushed upward. The user whose thread ranks first for this search put it plainly: the bots are top notch, but the monthly cost at the tier he needed felt really steep. Flat-price apps avoid that ladder entirely.

Can I move my CrushOn characters to another app?

CrushOn does not document a card export. If you can save a character as a V2 or PNG card by any route, OurDream AI documents an import page that accepts them; otherwise plan to rebuild the character from its description, which the apps with creators here all support.
