I paid for four of these in July 2026. OurDream AI ($19.99/mo) produced the most photo-real output of anything I bought. Secret Desires AI ($7.99/mo) is the cheapest plan I paid for and the steadiest at keeping one face consistent. Candy AI ($13.99/mo) is the pick when you want images to arrive inside an ongoing story rather than from a blank prompt box. Lovescape AI ($19.99/mo) is the one that turns a still into video and a Live Cam scene.

One rule decides the order: tested beats researched, never the reverse. Anime-first readers: scan the 🎨 line; photo-real readers: scan the 📸 line. NovelAI is here because no anime list is honest without it.

Prices marked "I paid this" are my receipts; "reported" prices come from official pricing pages and 2026 sources, checked Jul 19, 2026, and can change. Speed, queue times, and credit burn live in the notes because I refuse to score what I have not measured. A research-stage app caps at three peppers until its claims survive a self-funded test. Vivid 2.0 produced the most photo-real image of my four tests, and the preset pose library means the explicit menu is right on the surface. The tradeoff I hit was face drift across repeated generations.

The six-step partner builder produced the most polished custom character of my tests, and she kept her face across the set: the best same-face consistency I measured, at the lowest price I paid.

Candy generates images inside the conversation, so the scene matches what is happening in the story: my contextual image obeyed the brief and kept the character recognizable, at 10 tokens per image.
The library also carries about 40 anime characters, which reviews rate well; my own test ran the realistic path. Both the image and the token math are in my review.

Lovescape treats a still as the first frame: animate it, extend it, or continue inside Live Cam with 40+ pose and action presets that did what they said. Face drift appears once scenes stack up.
